Airports of Puglia successfully organized the Forum “Airport Initiatives for a Sustainable Future", on September 12, 2023, at Bari Airport. The event aimed to enhance and share ongoing efforts to reduce emissions in the airports and to present to the airport stakeholders some of the best practices that can be put into practice in order to make the airport more sustainable. It focused on spreading awareness of available tools and actions to minimize the environmental impact of daily operations carried out by employees, suppliers, and carriers.
The event welcomed participants to engage actively in shaping the sustainable future of the aviation community. Attendees took part in a day filled with discussions, idea sharing, and engaging presentations on key topics, including:

1. Airport Carbon Accreditation: The event provided insights into Airports of Puglia current efforts to attain this crucial certification, presenting accomplishments to date and discussing the ambitious goals set for the future.

3. Italian Market Trends Towards Vehicle Electrification: Attendees delved into the latest Italian market trends related to vehicle electrification and how these trends can be adopted within the airport.

4. Waste Management Best Practices: Sustainable waste management solutions were shared, with a focus on implementation success in the community.

5. Repository of Best Practices from Other Airports: A broad spectrum of best practices from both Italian and international airports were examined, laying the groundwork for continuous improvement.
